"In Valladolid, 4th June 2010, the jury constituted by: D. Carlos Sanz Miguel, Professor of Prehistory and director of the Vacceos Studies Federico Wattenberg Center of the University of Valladolid, D. Gonzalo Ruiz Zapatero, main Professor of Prehistory at the Complutense University of Madrid, Dña. María Bolaños Atienza, director of the National Museum San Gregorio School of Valladolid, D. Marco Temprano Alonso, painter and artist specialized on engravings, D. Jesús Solís Calderón, director of Qumrán Wineries and Vineyards, D. Rafael Vega José, publisher and journalist, D. Fernando Romero Carnicero, main Professor of Prehistory at the University of Valladolid, agreed unanimously to concede VACCEA AWARD 2010 in its modality of HERITAGE PROTECTION AND CONSERVATION to D. MANUEL RETUERCE VELASCO and D. FERNANDO COBOS GUERRA thanks to their intervention in La Mota Castle of Medina del Campo (Valladolid) and, particularly, thanks to the chosen solution for the conservation and exhibition of the excavations in the first shelter of Iron Age, in relation with the visitors reception building."
